Overview
The Alumni Fund Directors play a significant role in shaping the priorities of º¬Ðß²ÝÑо¿ÊÒ’s alumni annual giving program. In collaboration with Annual Giving staff, this group helps guide overall strategic planning and direction of fundraising for annual operating support. The Fund Directors serve as liaisons between the College and our corps of alumni volunteers, and are highly engaged in maintaining and elevating º¬Ðß²ÝÑо¿ÊÒ’s annual giving program excellence.
Commitment
- Support the unrestricted Alumni Fund with a gift annually by June 30
- Attend two on-campus Volunteer Conferences annually (fall and spring)
- Participate in a minimum of two quarterly conference calls during the Fund year
- Serve on one of three subcommittees of the Fund Directors and assist with strategic objectives
- Represent nearly 900 alumni volunteers by providing education and mentorship for assigned Class Agents
- Shape the volunteer experience
- Be an advocate for and contribute to º¬Ðß²ÝÑо¿ÊÒOne Day through planning and execution
- Assist in the solicitation/stewardship of targeted alumni groups including first-time donors, long-lapsed renewed, reunion committee volunteers, and 1794 Society members
- When appropriate, accompany º¬Ðß²ÝÑо¿ÊÒ staff on visits with alumni for volunteer recruitment, stewardship, or gift solicitation purposes
- Attend regional alumni events when possible
- Attend the annual 1794 Society reception and welcome guests, if possible
- Consider hosting or co-hosting a Fund Director Dinner or Reception with alumni volunteers in your area
- Assist with various Alumni Fund outreach efforts when requested, such as solicitation calls to volunteers, hand-written thank you notes, volunteer recruitment, and promoting the Fund on social media accounts
Term and Succession:
Fund Directors serve a four-year term. The Director of Annual Giving, in collaboration with the Fund Director Chair and Vice Chair, will recruit new members to the group; candidate recommendations from the Fund Directors are encouraged.
