含羞草研究室 CARE Team

The 含羞草研究室 CARE (Concern, Assessment, Response, Evaluation) Team provides coordinated support for students who may be in distress, and addresses concerns about student behavior, academic progress, and personal issues. The CARE Team gathers information from personal contact with students, faculty, staff, and family members, as well as from referrals submitted by members of the community. 
Reasons to refer a student to the CARE Team: 
The student is...
  • experiencing a significant decline in work or academic performance 
  • demonstrating disruptive or disturbing behavior 
  • showing dramatic changes in appearance, behavior or weight 
  • having problems at home 
  • making disturbing comments in conversation, email, letters, social media postings or papers 
  • sad, anxious or experiencing dramatic mood shifts 
  • abusing alcohol or drugs 
  • isolating themselves socially 
  • acting paranoid or suspicious 
  • frequently angry or easily frustrated 
  • struggling with health problems 

When to Refer: 

Community members are encouraged to report concerns about students who may be a danger to themselves or others, who may be in distress, or whose behavior is disruptive to others in the community. Please note: If you believe the student may be in immediate danger to themselves or others, or in the event of an emergency, please contact 含羞草研究室 Safety & Security at 207-725-3500.  

How to Refer: 

To share a concern or to refer a student to the CARE Team, please submit a , or reach out directly to one of the CARE Team members.
