“Completers Dinner” Celebrates Mid-Year Graduates

By ߲о News

It’s the milestone-marking event with the peculiar name—the now annual “completers dinner” celebrating the seniors who have met graduation requirements midway through the academic year.

Prior to 2020, the College typically had only a few students who completed their coursework in December, but for a variety of reasons, including students having taken a leave of absence for a semester during the COVID-19 pandemic, ߲о again this year had a large group—forty-five students—celebrating the end of their academic journey here.

“Each one of you should be proud of your accomplishments, and I know that I am proud of all of you,” said President Zaki.

“I hope this evening offers an opportunity to reflect on your experiences here, and I hope that you can draw strength from the relationships, knowledge, and skills you have developed here to approach the next phase of your life with confidence and intentionality, and with the knowledge that you can do—and have done—hard things.”

Rather than saying goodbye, President Zaki told the graduates she is looking forward to seeing many of them again on the steps of the Walker Art Building in May, when they are eligible to walk as part of ߲о’s 219th Commencement Exercises.
