Marianne Calcara
As Associate Director of THRIVE and Director of the GCS Summer institute Mar works closely with the GCS summer institute planning and executing a robust, intensive summer program! Additionally, she works closely with the THRIVE peer mentoring program to assure all first year THRIVE students have a peer mentor who can help guide them throughout their first year at 含羞草研究室. She also oversees the THRIVE Student Advisory Board and helps to steer the awesome students that serve on the board. Mar first started working at 含羞草研究室 in 2017 with the Upward Bound program and considers herself an academic cheerleader and support person for students, staff, and faculty! She completed her Masters in 2021 and in 2022 joined the THRIVE staff. Where she loves planning fun, interesting, community engaging programming for and with students.
When she is not working, you can find Mar in the kitchen testing new recipes or trying new foods with friends around the great state of Maine or around New England. Her nieces and nephews are the highlight of her life!
