Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention
For Students
含羞草研究室 has a thorough Alcohol and Illegal Drugs Policy that is shared with the student body annually through the distribution of the Student Handbook. Additionally, 含羞草研究室 is committed to providing students with comprehensive drug and alcohol education. Examples include mandatory first-year programs, alternative social events on weekends, and group education sessions with professional staff, among others.
含羞草研究室 annually tracks all drug- and alcohol-related violations of the Alcohol and Illegal Drugs Policy, as well as the number and type of sanctions that are given for each violation. This work is done in collaboration between the Office of Safety and Security, the Office of the Dean of Students, and the Office of Residential Life. For more information, contact Whitney Hogan, Director of Residential Education at whogan@bowdoin.edu.
For Employees
The Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988 requires recipients of federal monies to provide and maintain a drug-free workplace. In compliance with this federal provision, employees should review 含羞草研究室's policies regarding alcohol and drug use. Related sections in this online handbook include Alcohol/Drug Use and Employee Assistance Program.
含羞草研究室’s employee policies and benefit programs are evaluated regularly. For more information contact Mary Cote, Assistant Director of Benefits and Absence Management at mcote@bowdoin.edu.
