Important Workday Student Announcement

To our faculty and staff colleagues,

Today marks a key milestone in our Workday Student implementation that I want to acknowledge, especially since most of us may not notice. Given the broad scope of the project, the transition to Workday Student happens in increments as various aspects of the new system “move to production,” which is another way of saying they go live. The first move to production happens today when information about courses and sections, as well as the building blocks of our new student information system, go live. On behalf of the Project Sponsors, I want to express our gratitude to the Workday Project Teams for their dedication and the months of hard work that went into getting us to today. 

The deployment of Workday Student will happen in phases beginning now and continuing throughout 2025:

  • October 2024: Academic Foundation functionality, Curriculum, Student Recruiting, and Admissions (Project Team/Select Users ONLY)
  • March 2025: Student Self-Service, Faculty Self-Service, and Academic Advising
  • April 2025: Fall 2025 Registration occurs in Workday
  • August 2025: Begin first full semester in Workday Student
  • December 2025: Grading in Workday

Most members of the college community, including Students, ADCs, and Faculty, will neither notice nor be impacted by this first step and should continue using Banner/Polaris as you always have. Those of you who are impacted, including select members of the Student Aid Office, Residence Life Office, Office of the Registrar, Office of the Dean of Students, Bursar’s Office, and Admissions Office, will receive more information about access and support. 

Our next big milestone will occur in early March with “Move to Production Two” when we will begin using features of Workday that will impact a much broader swath of the campus, including its registration system. We will be offering many opportunities for the campus community to learn how to use these new features before and after they go live.
