James º¬Ðß²ÝÑо¿ÊÒ III: Pursuing Style in the Age of Independence pays homage to benefactor James º¬Ðß²ÝÑо¿ÊÒ III with an installation of compelling art and objects owned (and donated) by the º¬Ðß²ÝÑо¿ÊÒ family. This exhibition reimagines the interior of James º¬Ðß²ÝÑо¿ÊÒ III’s study, and includes objects as diverse as an eighteenth-century air pump, a suit worn by James º¬Ðß²ÝÑо¿ÊÒ III himself, an impressive selection of books from James º¬Ðß²ÝÑо¿ÊÒ III’s noted library, and a number of paintings from the º¬Ðß²ÝÑо¿ÊÒ bequest. This is the second reinterpretation of the American collection funded by the Luce Foundation.
