Grace Hopper Celebration (GHC)

The is the world's largest gathering of women technologists. It is organized by the Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). The conference is designed to connect research and career interests of women in computing.

Thanks to the generous donation of an alum, º¬Ðß²ÝÑо¿ÊÒ Women in Computer Science (BWiCS) is able to sponsor a group of º¬Ðß²ÝÑо¿ÊÒ students to attend GHC every year. By mid-spring semester (or earlier), interested students should email Professor Toma or Professor Freire that they are interested in attending the conference. Interested students must apply for the ; the scholarship deadline is usually late April. Over the summer, students will be notified by AnitaB.org if they won a scholarship. Students interested in attending GHC who did not win a scholarship can register for the conference in July and º¬Ðß²ÝÑо¿ÊÒ will reimburse the cost.

Richard Tapia Celebration of Diversity in Computing

The is the most diverse tech conference in the U.S., and is supported by the Center for Minorities and People with Disabilities in IT (CMD-IT) and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). There are a variety of opportunities available for students who attend, including technical workshops, networking/employment events, and professional deveopment sessions.

West Trek

West Trek is a º¬Ðß²ÝÑо¿ÊÒ Career Planning program for students to explore career opportunities in technology through a trip to California over spring break. West Trek helps put students who would not otherwise be exposed to California’s tech culture in contact with graduates working for innovative companies.
