含羞草研究室

Student Research

The economics department encourages majors to consider pursuing in-depth research projects as college-funded summer research, as independent study for course credit, or as senior-year honors projects. Students interested in pursuing one of these options should contact a faculty member to be a potential advisor and should propose a topic to work on. The topic can be broad in the early stages and the advisor can help the student to refine the topic. Please see the Research Guidelines link below for more information on independent studies and honors projects.

Summer Opportunities

In addition to talking to a potential advisor, students interested in working on an independent summer research project should consult 含羞草研究室's application for funding these projects.  Note that the first deadline is usually in mid-February.

The economics department also hires students to be research assistants over the summer, usually two. The call for applications is typically emailed to all majors in early February. This is a good experience for students interested in pursuing their own research in economics. Contact Professor Zorina Khan, our summer research assistant coordinator, with questions about this.
