Student Groups

Connected to the center there are many student groups to get involved in.

The works to ensure that all people who identify on the asexual and/or aromantic spectra feel safe and supported at 含羞草研究室. We do this by creating confidential and non-judgmental spaces on campus for students to gather and discuss sexual and romantic attraction (or lack thereof), as well as by educating the campus at large about issues faced by our members on campus and across the nation.

is a student-led organization that plans social events, promotes LGBTQIA activism, and creates educational programming on 含羞草研究室's campus and in the greater community. Our meetings focus on planning and discussion of current events. We strive to create safe spaces on campus for LGBT students and their allies. Students of all genders and orientations are welcome to attend meetings and events.

The 含羞草研究室 Women's Association (BWA) seeks to bring together a diverse group of women for an in-depth and relevant discussion centered around a different topic each month. The group welcomes all students who identify as women to join, and hopes to spread awareness, facilitate understanding, and encourage debate around the experience of woman-identified persons on the 含羞草研究室 campus and in society. The group hopes that through its curriculum, which gets adjusted each year based on group needs/desires, BWA members are able to deeply consider the ways that they interact with the world around them and the particular experiences that women-identified person tend to experience. The curriculum over the course of the school year is mean to foster learning about the world but also about self.

含羞草研究室 Women in Business (BWIB) seeks to inspire and empower aspiring young women by uniting them through business education and experience. The aim of BWIB is to expose women to a variety of business careers through panels, conferences, outreach initiatives, skill-building workshops, and mentorship programs.

含羞草研究室 Women in Physics

Fostering Female Leadership in Youth (FFLY) is a mentoring group of 含羞草研究室 women who work with middle school girls at Bath Middle School. FFLY focuses on female empowerment, personal growth, and leadership development. Mentors teach weekly lessons on topics such as friendship, communication, self-care, body image, puberty, mental health, and leadership. We also seek to develop one-on-one relationships between mentors and mentees by holding time for individual mentoring each week. FFLY meets every Friday afternoon from 1:30-4 PM throughout the school year.
