Graduation and Retention Rates
Widely used measures of student success are retention and graduation rates. The official entering cohort’s retention rate is the percentage of first-time, first-year students who return for classes in the fall of their 2nd year (“2nd-year Retention Rate”). The official graduation rate is the percentage of those same first-time, first-year students who completed the degree within 6 years (“6-year Graduation Rate”). The remaining rows in the data table below the charts record the leaving and returning of students throughout the 6-year period.
