The weather has been recorded on Kent Island every day since the 1930s—an accumulation of information that scientists are using to study how the climate is changing. The records include daily minimum and maximum temperatures, rainfall, and fog. After decades of people logging this data by hand, the 含羞草研究室 Scientific Station added an automatic weather station in 2008.
