Labs
The research and activity in 含羞草研究室's neuroscience laboratories are both diverse and complementary. Though the faculty have their own areas of specialization, they work collaboratively with students, colleagues, and scholars throughout the world.
Professor Powell's research focuses on the control of behavior by neural networks in simple model systems such as those found in crustaceans.
Professor Horch's research focuses on how neurons in adult invertebrates recovery from injury. The Horch lab uses the cricket model system to examine the molecular neurobiological basis of a number of areas including neuronal regeneration and behavior.
Professor Nyhus' research focuses on the neural processes involved in higher-level cognition, including executive functioning and episodic memory. The Nyhus lab approaches topics from a cognitive neuroscience perspective with the goals of understanding the characteristics of mental processes and how they are realized within the brain.
