Jacob Muscato
Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology
I teach courses in introductory biology, cell and molecular biology, and biochemistry and aim to equip students with the skills to connect biological processes like development, health, and disease to their underlying chemical and molecular explanations. My doctoral research combined bacterial cell envelope biology with chemical and genetic screening technologies to propose new drug discovery strategies. I am particularly fascinated by microorganisms and the many ways they interact with humans at molecular, organismal, and societal scales.
