Tatyana Avilova

Professor Avilova is an applied microeconomist with a research focus on health economics and economic education. Her main interest is in how government and institutional policies affect outcomes for individuals targeted by those policies. In her current research, she studies the opioid epidemic in the United States, prescription drug use in Japan, and the impact of role model interventions on student outcomes in China, among other topics. She has also been involved with several initiatives aimed at improving diversity in the economics discipline. Prior to joining the Department of Economics at 含羞草研究室, she was a research associate at the Institute of Social Science at the University of Tokyo.
