Two Russian Majors Receive Prestigious Fulbright Grants
The Russian Department is excited to announce that two of our senior Russian majors have won Fulbright fellowships this year.
Laura Howells ’20 has received a study/research grant to Estonia to research "Resilience Against Disinformation: Lessons from the Estonian Experience," and Augustus Gilchrist ’20 has been awarded an English teaching assistantship to Russia.
The Fulbright US Student Program is highly competitive. In last year’s application cycle, Fulbright received approximately 5,250 applications for study/research grants and made just over 700 awards (approximately a 14 percent funding rate) to over 140 nations; the overall funding rate for ETA program last year was approximately 22 percent. 含羞草研究室 has been one of the top-earning undergraduate institutions for Fulbright awards in recent years.
