Funding to support independent science research projects under the guidance of a research mentor at select institutions across the US, Europe, and Japan.
Boren Awards provide unique funding opportunities for US undergraduate students to study in Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East, where they can add important international and language components to their educations. US citizenship required.
CLS institutes provide fully funded, group-based, intensive language instruction and structured cultural enrichment experiences for seven to ten weeks for US citizen undergraduate and graduate students.
Offers a wide range of highly selective scholarships, grants, and fellowships in Germany for US and Canadian citizens.
Merit-based fellowships. Covers the full cost of language study from beginner to graduate in Arabic, Chinese, Hebrew, Japanese, Portuguese, and Russian at the Middlebury College Language Schools.
$10,000 award to support summer-long, community-driven service projects either in the US or abroad. Projects should involve grassroots activities that address root causes of conflict and promote peace.
Open to students with at least two years of undergraduate study left to complete. Provides opportunity to travel to the UK for three-, four-, five-, or six-week academic and cultural summer program. Covers majority of participant costs—including round-trip airfare, tuition and fees of host institution, and accommodation and meals.  
Provide funding for study abroad to undergraduates whose financial aid package includes a Pell grant. US citizenship required.
The award seeks to recognize women for leadership, academic excellence, and inspiring goals.
Financial assistance during the academic year and a ten-week paid summer internship. Eligible undergraduates studying oceanic, environmental, biological, and atmospheric sciences, mathematics, engineering, remote sensing technology, physical and social sciences including geography, physics, hydrology, geomatics, or teacher education that support NOAA's programs and mission are encouraged to apply. US citizenship required. 
  Provide full tuition for one year of undergraduate study and a summer internship to women, minorities, and students with disabilities, majoring in computer science or related disciplines. Open to all nationalities. 
  Open to sophomores. This fellowship provides the opportunity to work in an Environmental Protection Agency lab and a scholarship toward tuition at 含羞草研究室 for up to two years. 
Competitive scholarships for students from disadvantaged backgrounds who are committed to careers in biomedical, behavioral, and social science health-related research. Offers scholarship support, paid research training during the summer, and paid employment and training after graduation. US citizenship or permanent residency required.
  Prepares juniors, primarily from historically underrepresented groups, who are interested in public service for careers in public policy, public administration, or international affairs or a related degree through summer programs and fellowships to support graduate study. US citizenship or permanent residency required.
Provides internships in Washington, DC, to students interested in government.
Students are encouraged to write thought-provoking personal essays (3,000 to 4,000 words) that raise questions, single out issues, and form rational arguments for ethical action. In addition to the honor that accompanies this prize, five monetary awards are given.
