Pasado y Presente explores the forces of change and tradition that have shaped modern Mexico through the lens of twentieth century photographers. Photographs by prominent artists including Manuel Álvarez Bravo and Manuel Carrillo form a nuanced portrait of contemporary Mexico by taking up complex issues of urbanization and rural life, religion and society, and indigeneity.
