Undergraduate Research Grants
Surdna Foundation Undergraduate Research Fellowship
An undergraduate research fellowship program originally established in 1959, this fund was renamed in 1968 to recognize the gifts of the Surdna Foundation. This fellowship is awarded to highly qualified students and is meant to facilitate full time research for eight, nine, or ten weeks during the summer.
Students interested in applying must do so in February of their junior year. The application is written by both the student and the faculty mentor supervising the project.
Edward E. Langbein Sr. Summer Research Grant
This grant is awarded annually to one graduating senior to enable him/her to participate in summer research that is directed toward his/her major field or lifework. This application is written jointly by the student and the supervising professor.
Departmental Awards
Amstutz Memorial Prize Fund
Frederic Peter Amstutz Memorial Prize Fund was established in memory of Frederic Peter Amstutz by members of his family. This prize is awarded annually to a graduating major in recognition of the achievement of distinction in the major, including honors.
This year's recipient is Thomas M. Mazzuchi '23.
